Our Services — Complete Water Solutions

Water Filtration & Treatment Solutions for Athens Homes

Whether you are on Athens-Clarke County city water or a private well out in Oconee or Madison County, we install systems built around your water source — improving taste, protecting your plumbing, and reducing what you would rather not be drinking.

Whole-home water filtration and softening system installed at the point of entry

Whole-Home Water Filtration

Treat every tap in the house from one point of entry — reducing sediment, chlorine taste, odors, and the buildup that shortens the life of your fixtures and appliances.

Reverse osmosis drinking water system with storage tank installed under a sink

Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water

An under-sink system that gives you genuinely clean water for drinking, cooking, coffee, and ice — and ends the cycle of hauling cases of bottled water home every week.

Well water treatment system with sediment filter, iron removal, and water softener

Well Water Treatment

Rotten-egg smell, orange staining, grit in the aerators — the classic North Georgia well problems. We treat iron, sulfur, sediment, and bacteria based on what your water actually contains.

Water Softener Systems

Mostly a well water fix around here. If you have scale on fixtures, film on glassware, and soap that will not lather, a properly sized softener protects your plumbing and your water heater.

Carbon Filtration Systems

If your water tastes or smells like a swimming pool, carbon filtration targets chlorine and chloramine — the most common complaint we hear from homes on municipal water.

City Water Treatment

Municipal water is treated to be safe, not to taste good. We polish what comes out of the Athens-Clarke County system so your water is something you actually want to drink.

About Georgia Water Pros

Athens' Trusted Water Filtration Specialists

Georgia Water Pros is a locally owned water treatment company serving Athens and the surrounding counties. We are not a national chain working off a commission script — we look at your water source, explain what your symptoms point to, and recommend only what your home actually needs.

  • Solutions built around your water

Well water in Jackson County and city water in Athens are completely different problems. Your system is sized to your water and your home, not a catalog default.

  • Whole-home protection

Treatment at the point of entry reaches every shower, sink, and appliance — including the water heater that hard water quietly destroys.

  • Better drinking water

Reverse osmosis at the kitchen sink gives you water worth drinking straight from the tap, for a fraction of what bottled water costs over a year.

  • Straight answers, dependable work

Clear pricing before we start, careful installation, and a real person who picks up the phone when you have a question later.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Athens water hard? Do I need a softener?

Usually not, if you are on city water. Athens-Clarke County draws from the North Oconee River, the Middle Oconee River, and Bear Creek Reservoir, and Piedmont surface water like that is naturally low in the minerals that cause hardness. Most ACC customers do not need a softener at all. What we hear from city customers is chlorine taste and smell, which carbon filtration handles.

Private wells are a completely different story. Wells across Oconee, Jackson, and Madison counties commonly carry iron, manganese, hardness, and mildly acidic water that eats at copper plumbing over time. If you are on a well, a lab test is the only way to know your numbers, and we can walk you through what the results mean.

How much does a water treatment system cost?

It depends on your water and your home. An under-sink reverse osmosis system is a modest investment; a whole-home softener plus filtration for a well with iron issues costs considerably more. We give you a firm price after the consultation, before any work is scheduled — never a vague range that changes on install day.

Do I need a softener, a filter, or both?

They solve different problems. A softener removes the calcium and magnesium that cause scale and dry skin. A filter targets taste, odor, chlorine, and sediment. Plenty of homes need only one — we will tell you honestly which applies to yours.

How long does installation take?

Most under-sink reverse osmosis systems are done in two to three hours. A whole-home softener or filtration system is typically a half day. We confirm the timeline before scheduling so you are not left guessing.

What areas do you serve?

We cover Athens and roughly a 30-minute radius — including Clarke, Oconee, Barrow, Jackson, and Walton counties. If you are just outside that, call us anyway and we will let you know.
